Lets be honest here: BUOYANCY

A door can EASILY support two people in a prone position in the water— there will be about 2-3 inches of water above the door, but if you lay side by side to conserve body heat between the two people, it would have increased the chances of them BOTH surviving.

Even if it WAS only buoyant enough for one… why not take turns?
